Pochinko
A downloadable game
On the Summer of 2007, theoretical physicist Alexei Pochinko (or just Pochinko) empirically proved the existence of parallel universes.
This breakthrough made people obsessed with parallel universes for around two weeks, before they realized that even though we knew that they were there, we couldn’t really do anything about it or interact with them in any way. Slowly, everyone lost interest in the matter.
Pochinko was washed up. He had just gone from the highest point of his life to be discarded and ignored once the world moved on from that seemingly revolutionary fact. Pochinko started drinking. He went through a pretty rough divorce. It seemed like everything was lost for him.
Suddenly, it just clicked.
Two months after his grand discovery, Pochinko developed the Pochinko Principle, the key to interuniversal travel. Suddenly, infinite Pochinkos flooded infinite different realities, reaching out to each other, escaping from their home or just doing a bit of tourism.
A universe of possibilities
Pochinko is a rules-lite ttrpg about playing differents alternate versions of a guy named Pochinko. Grab a couple of friends, convince one of them to be the DM, and experience the zany adventures of a group of varied interuniversal travelers. Infinite Pochinkos, infinite different stories, infinite hours of fun.
Pochinko uses a simple system based around a couple of d10s, and a character creation method that lets the rest of the table have a say about the abilities of your own Pochinko.
If you actually run a session of this game instead of letting it rot in your pile of unplayed indie ttrpgs (we all have one) please reach out and tell me what a grand old time you had, a cooler-looking version is coming out soon with nice layouts and graphic design.
If you have any questions about parallel universes as a narrative device or any death threats feel free to drop them in the comments or send them to my Twitter or my Bluesky.
